Amherst, MA 1002 USAbout: Hampshire College offers all students a chance to design an interdisciplinary course of study according to their own interests. The final year is devoted to completing al body of original work. Students are encouraged to work across traditional boundaries, combining photography with a study of homelessness in America, for example, or incorporating music or dance native to a particular people (i.e.: Peruvian dance) into a body of original composition. Students work closely with faculty during all four years, combining course work and independent work. Two interdisciplinary schools support student work in the arts: the schools of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies, and Interdisciplinary Arts.
